Occupational medicine studies the relationship between man and work, the adaptation of man to work and the adaptation of work to the person who performs it, incorporating knowledge from all other medical specialties. Occupational medicine is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and management of occupational and occupational-related diseases, accidents at work, as well as with the promotion of workers' health and productivity.
Employers in any field of activity, both in the public and private sector, are obliged to comply with the regulations in force on the supervision of workers' health (according to H.G. no.355/2007 supplemented by HG no. 1169/2011).
Today, the increasing complexity of modern industrial processes requires a specific sustained medical activity in the workplace, in order to solve the problems of exposure to extremely varied occupational noxuses, problems of work ergonomics, promotion of employee health.
